Camilla Blom

About

Camilla Blom is a Scandinavian award-winning Creative skilled in Art Direction, Illustration, Surface Pattern Design, Product Design and Concept Design. After graduating in 1994 from Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm, she has worked in her own business in an international setting with clients all over Europe. She has also repeatedly been a lecturer at various design education programmes.

2022– Employed at MK Illumination Sweden, working in international teams with Art Direction, Product Design and Concept Design for public lighting.
2021– ‘Designing for a virtual world’, a collaboration with Beckmans School of Design, Stockholm, and Massive Entertainment, Malmö. Developing a new up-skill education for already established designers.
2020– Surface Pattern Designer and Product Developer with her own line of interior design for Scandinavian Stories, ’Camilla Blom for Scandinavian Stories’
2020– Starting Oysterland Studio together with Johan Månsson, a creative space for free thinking where the opportunity of limitless expression has generated a genre-free and personal platform for various art and design projects.

2004–2018 Print Designer, Product Developer and Art Director (2004–2014) for me&i, Sweden, producer of children’s clothes. Responsible for all prints, textile patches, labels and patterns. As well as all visual material such as look books, adverts, package design, display cases for events, presentations and much more. The company was incredibly successful during these years, establishing in six European countries

2013–2016 Setting up Beckmans Akademis evening courses in Malmö (Graphic Design and Illustration), in collaboration with Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm. Teaching in illustration and graphic design, mentoring and administrating
1997– Lecturer in Graphic Design, Illustration and Typography at Beckmans School of Design, Stockholm and other design education programmes in various schools all over Sweden
1994– Founded her own company and have been freelancing ever since as a Surface Pattern Designer, Product Designer, Graphic Designer, Art Director, Creative Director and Illustrator
1994–1996 Art Director at Stockholm Film Festival and the magazine Cinema
1994 ’Embryo of the Year’, which is awarded annually to the Best Swedish Exam Student in Graphic Design. The same year, also runner up for the prize of ’Best Overall Exam Student’ in all Design and Art Educations in Sweden
1994 Intellecta Scholarship for Best Exam Project at Beckmans School of Design
1991–1994 3 year programme ’Graphic Design’ at Beckmans School of Design, Stockholm
